Travelling the world is the stuff of dreams for most of it. What better way to expand your horizons than to head off on an amazing trek that will take you across the continents of the world and allow you to experience difficult cultures and ways of living? It’s no wonder that so many people take a year or more out of their lives for a valuable trip. It’s not running away from life, after all: it’s embracing it. Schools, universities, and other institutions are often looking for helpers for conversation classes, or on a more formal teaching basis. Many individuals are also looking for tutors to help them with specialised skills such as business English or the English needed for a particular field, such as engineering or architecture.
Because it’s in high demand, English teaching can pay quite well, and the hours are less demanding than, say, working at a pub. Give it a try!
