Is Green Green in Car Manufacturing?

For those that are environment conscious, we are at least aware of various international debates and trends about the need for the world to go green. These reasons of course cannot be farfetched; we are killing our planet and we are the ones that can also restore it to better health. How green can green get or better still; how green is green? These are question that are crucial to the future of a greener earth. Hybrid cars are said to be eco-friendly but how green is the manufacturing plant where they are produced? Some cars are said to have zero emission level however the truth is that the danger posed by the carbon released during their production is dangerous.

I am not saying hybrid cars are not a welcome development. They are actually a giant leap towards a better earth. What I am calling for is better responsibility from both government and manufacturers in general. It is a call for governments and firms to double their efforts. We want to see more legislation from the part of government. Companies for example should be given minimum expectations on how to turn their manufacturing plants into green buildings. This may take the form of yearly expectations or a deadline spanning a long period say ten years. Things like this will keep all parties involved on their toes especially when they are aware of the target that is set before them. If the production process is not friendly to the environment, then green is not green in car manufacturing.
